How much branding costs in the UK, and which level you need
A logo can cost £30 or £30,000 and both get called branding. The real brackets from logo to full rebrand, and which level your business needs.

Branding has the widest price range in marketing: a logo can cost £30 or £30,000, and both are called branding. Here is what each level of the work actually costs in the UK, and which one your business needs.
The short answer
A professional logo from a freelancer or small agency costs £500 to £3,000. A brand starter pack — logo, colours, type and a set of guidelines — runs £1,500 to £5,000. A full brand identity, with strategy and a complete visual system, costs £5,000 to £20,000. A proper rebrand of an established business, rolled out across everything, sits between £10,000 and £40,000. London studios often charge 25 to 50 percent more than regional ones.
| Level | Typical UK cost | What it buys |
|---|---|---|
| Logo | £500–£3,000 | A professional mark, revisions, usable file formats |
| Brand starter pack | £1,500–£5,000 | Logo plus colours, type and usage guidelines |
| Full identity | £5,000–£20,000 | Strategy, naming, a complete visual system, guidelines |
| Rebrand with rollout | £10,000–£40,000+ | All of it, applied across site, signage and every touchpoint |
These are UK market bands for 2026, not quotes — the scope sets the number.
What moves the number
- Strategy depth. Executing against a brief costs one thing; working out the positioning first costs more and is worth more.
- Scope. A logo is days. A system that survives contact with a website, packaging and social is months.
- Who does it. Freelancer, boutique studio or London agency — same words, different overheads.
- Rollout. The most forgotten cost is applying the brand everywhere it currently lives: site, profiles, signage, documents.
Which level you actually need
- A new venture testing a proposition: a starter pack, spent alongside a site that can launch it.
- An established business that has drifted: a full identity, not another logo patch.
- A rebrand: only when the positioning has changed. Repainting a company that has not changed its offer is the most expensive way to change nothing.
The real cost of a cheap logo
A £30 marketplace logo is not in these brackets because it is not the same product — no strategy, no system, no files that survive a website build. The expensive version of a cheap logo is the one you pay for twice: once to buy, once to replace a year later when it fails to scale.
